Summary of Main Street’s Charitable Contributions for 2022

Main Street is a dedicated proponent of supporting local charitable and non-profit organizations. As stated in the CSR Strategy, Main Street supports specific charities based on the feedback from our employees. This support takes the form of both monetary donations, our employees' time, and talents through unique "Main Street team projects" and the utilization of our Volunteer Time Off program. Main Street is pleased to have continued its ongoing support and relationships with Child Advocates, Friends for Life, Houston Arboretum, Memorial Assistance Ministries "MAM" and Ronald McDonald House.

For 2022, we are very pleased that Main Street and our employees contributed a total of $344,457 and volunteered 168 hours to local charities. Please see the summary below for a recap on how we were able to support each charity this past year.

Child Advocates A total contribution of $35,000 (including a combination of Main Street donations of $20,000 and donations from Main Street employees of $15,000)

  1. In December 2022, Main Street participated in the Santa’s Wish List volunteer event alongside Child Advocates. Main Street was able to provide Christmas gifts and gift cards to over 50 children and provide general monetary donation of $10,000. In addition to the donation drive, 10 Main Street employees also volunteered their time to help Child Advocates sort and organize all the toys.
  2. In May 2022, Main Street participated in the Pull for Kids Classic event alongside Child Advocates. Main Street supported the charity by participating in raffles, bidding on silent auction items, and providing monetary donations of $15,000. In addition to the donations, Main Street employees supported the charity by having a team participate in the sporting clays tournament. Main Street made an additional $10,000 donation to support Child Advocates and their services to Houston's most severely abused children.

Friends for Life A total contribution of $3,100 from Main Street Employees

  1. In February 2022, Main Street volunteered at Friends for Life during the Project Warm Event and built 35 warm houses for the feral cats in our community. In addition, Main Street employees coordinated a drive within the company to collect essential items. The team came together and was able to provide several items to help the shelter and collected over $3,100 in monetary contributions.

Houston Arboretum A total contribution of $21,994 (including a combination of Main Street donations of $20,000 and donations from Main Street employees of $1,994)

  1. In February 2022, Main Street employees volunteered at the Houston Arboretum &Nature Center to rescue native plants through transplanting. Main Street had 8 employees donating their time digging up rare native Texas plants from a prairie and then relocating them to the Arboretum.
  2. In October 2022, Main Street sponsored the ArBOOretum event at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. Main Street was a supporting sponsor which included a $10,000 monetary donation. In addition to the sponsorship, Main Street had families attend the event and provided which hats and candy corn.

MAM A total contribution of $21,430 (including a combination of Main Street donations of $20,000 and donations from Main Street employees of $1,430)

  1. In August 2022, Main Street participated in Memorial Assistance Ministries’ (“MAM”) back to school drive. To support MAM’s mission, Main Street hosted a back-to-school clothing fundraiser. Our team raised $11,450 to support those children and parents.

Operation Gratitude A total contribution of $10,000 from Main Street)

  1. In November 2022, Main Street partner with Operation Gratitude to organize a hands-on volunteer event at our offices. Main Street donated $5,000 worth of supplies and a monetary donation of $5,00. In addition to the donation, Main Street employees also volunteered their time to help assemble paracord bracelets, sort supplies and package and deliver the care kits.

Ronald McDonald House A total contribution of $20,633 (including a combination of Main Street donations of $20,000 and donations from Main Street employees of $633) 

  1. In August 2022, Main Street volunteered at the Holcombe House. Main Street was excited to volunteer in person by participating in the JoyFULL Eats program. Our team catered dinner to the families, residents, and staff of the Holcombe House. The event included a $5,000 sponsorship and was supported by 6 Main Street employees who served food to over 50 families.
  2. In December 2022, Main Street participated in the 13th annual Trafigura Run benefiting Ronald McDonald House Houston. Main Street showed its support by contributing a donation of $10,000 to the Mogie after party. In addition to the sponsorship, the Main Street team had 9 participants join the cause on race day.

Various Donations & Matching A total contribution of $26,300 was made to other non-profit organizations in our community (including a combination of Main Street donations of $19,150 and donations from Main Street employees of $7150)

  1. Our matching program and dollar for doer program matches individual employee contributions on a dollar-for-dollar basis as well as hours volunteered. For 2022, Main Street employees donated $7,150 to a charity of their choice and volunteered for 24 hours. Main Street matched their donations/hours bringing our total donations to $15,300. Main street also made various donations totaling $11,000 to other organizations.

Education A total contribution of 206,000 was made to the scholarship program in 2021 

  1. In 2017, Main Street established a scholarship program to provide educational opportunities to children of Main Street Capital and a select group of Main Street Capital’s portfolio companies. In 2022, $206,500 of new and renewable scholarships were funded, bringing the program lifetime total to over $858,000 in scholarships to over 93 students.
