Main Street Volunteers at Ronald McDonald Holcombe House

In May 2024, Main Street volunteered at the Holcombe House (rmhhouston.org/Holcombe-house/), one of four Ronald McDonald Homes in Houston. For more than 30 years, Ronald McDonald House Houston (“RMHH”)  (rmhhouston.org) has been helping families, with seriously ill children, allow parents who are far from home to stay close to their hospitalized child and benefit from the comforts of home without incurring hotel and food costs during these difficult times.

For RMHH families, eating consistent, nutritious meals during their hospital stay can be a huge challenge. JoyyFULL Eats is RMHH’s solution to help alleviate hunger while families are supporting their seriously ill child. Volunteers can sponsor or cook a meal for RMHH families, host a food drive to fill their pantry, or purchase H-E-B gift cards to provide quick and easy Meal Simple meals to RMHH families.

Main Street supported RMHH by participating in the JoyyFULL Eats program. Our team catered lunch for the families, residents, and staff of the Holcombe House. Eight Main Street employees, utilizing the Main Street Volunteer Time Off (VTO) Program, helped prepare, serve, and clean up the meal for over 50 families. In addition to volunteering, Main Street donated $5,000, which will cover the cost of three additional lunches and dinners at each of the other three RMHH locations.
