Main Street Host Donation Drive for Friends for Life
In August 2020, Main Street hosted a donation drive for Friends for Life (friends4life.org). At Friends For Life, every animal matters. Founded in 2002, Friends For Life introduced the no-kill shelter model to Houston – saving animals regardless of their breed, age or condition.
Throughout the month of August, Main Street employees coordinated a drive within the company to collect essential items needed by the organization. In order to encourage employees to donate, Main Street also organized a special day where employees could bring their pet, enjoy a snack, and drop off supplies. The team came together and was able to provide over 275 items to help the shelter including, dog food, cat food, treats, training pads, toys, towels, and cat litter. Additionally, Main Street collected over $12,700 in monetary contributions from its employees to donate to Friends for Life, alongside the collected items.
